The Man Behind the Lofts

Architect Aleks Istanbullu, who created the handsome design for my loft at Toy Factory Lofts, which was so well displayed in the article “Why Leave Home?” (by Barbara Thornburg, Style, Dec. 3), was not prominently mentioned. My partners and I have been so impressed with Aleks’ work that we selected him for the restoration and redesign of the historic Nabisco factory, now Biscuit Company Lofts. As the story and the accompanying one on Royal Claytons points out (“Industrial Nightlife,” by Chris Christensen, Dec. 3), this is rapidly becoming one of the most interesting neighborhoods in downtown L.A.
