Some 2nd Thoughts on Laurel Plaza

* Just what we need, another mega-mall, a 10-story office building and more movie screens.
Laurel Plaza could use a facelift or even some more stores, but this proposal is ridiculous. Hasn’t the developer heard the trend is to smaller, more personal shopping?
J. C. Penney and Sears would move into the new mall from their current location three blocks away at Laurel Canyon and Victory boulevards, making that location a ghost town.
The Laurel Plaza proposal is too big, poorly planned and needs to be looked at a lot closer.

* The Laurel Plaza proposal would destroy our residential neighborhood to expand the commercial area. I don’t think this is right.
Let the developer and school expand on the land they presently have. Isn’t 26 acres enough?

question is, “Would all of these problems exist if the Hispanic population was small?”
