Burbank Councilwoman and Bob Hope

First of all, I would not attend a fund-raiser anywhere for a sculpture. Secondly, Burbank has proven itself to be thoroughly scatterbrained and, when I received the advertisement, I wondered if indeed we would ever see the work of art or yet another piece of land cleared for erosion. I have lived through many changes of plans and watched Burbank put in malls and take out streets and now take out malls and put in streets. But what do Mary Lou Howard or any of the City Council members really care? It isn’t their money.
I am amazed that Mr. Hope allowed himself to be associated with the event in the first place, and I regret that it was the nature of the event that made me stay away rather than his appearance. In fact, I thought it was a rather sad waste of Mr. Hope’s unquestionable talent.
Burbank council members always seem to be busy blaming others for their lack of insight, planning, consistency and organization.
If I were Mr. Hope, I would chalk it up, consider the source and tell Burbank that it was extremely lucky to get 1,500--which they could not have done without him.
