Alastair Duncan and Brenda Levin will present slide lectures on Art Deco architecture next Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Design Center of Los Angeles, 433 S. Spring St., itself a restored example of Art Deco architecture.
Tickets for the event, sponsored by the Los Angeles Conservancy, are $7 for Conservancy members and $10 for the general public. For advance reservations, those planning to attend are advised to send a check and self-addressed, stamped envelope to the Los Angeles Conservancy, 849 S. Broadway M22, Los Angeles 90014.
Duncan, author of “American Art Deco,” will discuss Art Deco architecture throughout America. Levin, an architect and principal of Levin & Associates, will describe the restoration of several Art Deco buildings in Los Angeles, including the Wiltern Theatre and the Oviatt Building.
The lecture will be followed by an Art Deco downtown walking tour, beginning April 11, and an Art Deco brochure due to be published this spring by the Conservancy.
