Rita Rudner brings the chuckles to Red Rock Resort in October

Reporting from Las Vegas — Longtime comedian and Las Vegas headliner Rita Rudner joins the new Comedy Rocks series at Rocks Lounge inside Red Rock Resort with a show on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Rudner never intended to be a comedian, moving to New York when she was 15 to dance on Broadway. She performed in the original productions of “Follies” and “Mack and Mabel,” but during her appearance in “Annie,” she started to think about comedy.
She used her methods for learning dance and applied them to comedy, studying the works of Jack Benny and Woody Allen and developing a clever style.
So Rudner made the leap from the chorus lines and into the punch lines to help fill the void of female comedians in the 1980s. She found early success on the late-night show circuit, appearing frequently on “Late Night With David Letterman” and “The Tonight Show.”
Since, she’s filmed specials for HBO and the BBC. She’s penned five books, including the best-selling “Naked Beneath My Clothes,” “I Still Have It…I Just Can’t Remember Where I Put It” and “Rita Rudner’s Guide to Men.”
Rudner recently recorded “Rita Rudner: Live From Las Vegas” for PBS, her first standup show on television in more than a decade.
Tickets start at $25.
