Airfare: $831 round trip from LAX to Manila on Korean Air

Here’s a fare to Manila, good from late summer to late fall, that is lower than many we’re seeing to Europe: This $831 round-trip from LAX on Korean Air includes all taxes and fees.
It is subject to availability and is for departures Sundays through Thursdays from Aug. 20 through Nov. 30.
There is no minimum stay, but there is a three-month maximum stay.
One caveat: The time period for the ticket also corresponds to typhoon season. On Nov. 8, Typhoon Haiyan struck Tacloban, killing more than 6,000. Tacloban is about 360 miles southeast of Manila.
