Damon Johnson, a long snapper from Glendora High, announced his commitment to USC’s 2016 recruiting class Tuesday.
“After my home visit with coach Baxter, I will be committing to USC!! Thank you to all who helped me along the way,” Johnson wrote on Twitter.
Johnson was the high school teammate of quarterback Matt Fink, who has enrolled at USC for the spring semester.
Johnson will not count toward USC’s 2016 scholarship allotment, as he joins the team as a walk-on, according to Rubio Long Snapping.
Clay Helton announced that he hired special teams coordinator John Baxter earlier this month.
Baxter coached at USC for four seasons before he was not retained by former coach Steve Sarkisian. Baxter spent last season as special teams coach at Michigan.
Johnson committed to West Virginia in October but decommitted in mid-January.
