Update: Chivas USA is enjoying a solid July. The team is 1-0-2 this month with a shutout victory over San Jose, after losing three in a row to end June. Suddenly the team is within two wins of a .500 record as the All-Star break approaches. Meanwhile, New York is tied with Philadelphia atop the Eastern Conference and should draw a large crowd with Mexican standout Rafa Marquez on its roster. Chivas nabbed a 3-2 victory over the Red Bulls on May 15 thanks to Justin Braun’s hat trick.
