Track: Alemany’s Dominic Davis wins 100 in 10.47 at Mt. SAC

Junior Dominic Davis of Mission Hills Alemany is following the legacy established by former Sherman Oaks Notre Dame sprinter Khalfani Muhammad by showing there’s still lots of speed from Mission League athletes.
On Saturday, Davis ran the 100 meters in 10.47 seconds to win the invitational race at the Mt. San Antonio College High School Invitational.
Like Muhammad, who won the state championship in the 100 and 200, Davis is also a running back in football.
Loyola’s 400-meter relay team won its race in 41.58. The team was Aaron Gomez, Kyle Oden, Nico Evans and Mekai Sheffie.
Misana Viltz of Long Beach Millikan ran a scorching time of 13.71 to win the 110 highs.
Amber Gore of Redondo won the girls’ 800 in 2:12.19.
In the invitational pole vault, Jake David of Ventura soared to victory at 16-4. Finishing second at the same height was Luigi Colella of Thousand Oaks. Matt Schwartz of Burbank Burroughs cleared 15-6 to win his event. pole vault to win his event.
Randall Cunningham of Nevada Bishop Gorman went 7-2 in the high jump. Sister Vashti Cunningham won the girls’ high jump at 6-1.
In the shot put, Matt Katnik of St. John Bosco reached 65-4 to finish second to San Diego Madison’s Dotun Ogundeji, who finished with a mark of 65-5 1/2.
Koa Farmer of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame won the seeded 200 in 21.73.
On Friday, Steve Correa of San Pedro won the 3,2000 in 9:07.84.
