Football: The buzz is growing about Serra’s Oluwole Betiku

Gardena Serra Coach Scott Altenberg keeps producing future college and NFL players, and his next top prospect appears to be defensive lineman Oluwole Betiku, a native of Nigeria who came to the United States with no football experience.
Well, he must learn things quickly, because opponents are raving about his skills. At 6 feet 4, 240 pounds, some consider him the best lineman in the Mission League.
“He’s unbelievable,” Altenberg said.
He moved to the area from Maryland after his guardian was transferred for job reasons.
He has been playing with one of his hands covered up because of an injury, but he’s still making an impact.
Here’s the link to midseason highlights.
Serra (5-2, 2-1) had a bye last week and now must make a final three-game run trying to reach the Pac-5 Division playoffs with games against Alemany, Chaminade and Loyola.
