Football: St. John Bosco, Corona Centennial set to play on Saturday

There will be no tackling allowed, but to see St. John Bosco playing Corona Centennial in a seven on seven passing competition on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Huntington Beach Edison ought to be pretty fun.
The last time the two teams met was in the CIF state championship Southern California Open Division final last season in which Sean McGrew scored seven touchdowns in the Braves’ 70-49 victory over Centennial
Centennial will be playing three quarterbacks this weekend at the Edison tournament. Junior Anthony Catalano has the early edge because of experience, but Nate Ketteringham, a transfer from San Diego Westview, is coming on strong. And sophomore Nolan McDonald is also in the mix.
Centennial has a very good secondary, led by Oregon commit Jihree Stewart, and lots of receivers, led by Greyson Bankhead, a Cal commit.
“It’s an opportunity to get better,” Coach Matt Logan said of the passing competition.
