Football: Javier Cid is out at L.A. Roosevelt coach
- Share via
Javier Cid, the respected football coach at L.A. Roosevelt for nine years, has given up his position to become a dean at the school. A memo was sent out to teachers last week informing the campus of the change.
Cid declined comment. Friends said he would have liked to continue as coach, but he lost his teaching position, so becoming dean became a top priority.
The question is who will be able to replace Cid at this late time? Roosevelt players have begun a three-week dead period, so when they return, there needs be a new head coach. And if there is, he’ll have to scramble to prepare for the season ahead.
