Boys’ basketball: Sierra Canyon to play Chino Hills on Thursday

Sierra Canyon is still missing several basketball players because of camp commitments and injury, but the matchup against Chino Hills on Thursday in the Maranatha tournament will be intriguing, because the two schools could be No. 1 and No. 2 next season.
The schedule for the gold division on Thursday: Compton vs. Burroughs, 5 p.m.; Fairfax vs. St. Bernard, 6 p.m.; Chino Hills vs. Sierra Canyon, 7 p.m.; Pasadena vs. LB Poly, 8 p.m.
Silver division: Oak Park vs. La Mirada, 1 p.m.; Alemany vs. Viewpoint, 2 p.m.; Cantwell Sacred-Heart vs. Maranatha, 3 p.m.; La Canada vs. Loyola, 4 p.m.
Bronze division: Dorsey vs. Brentwood, 9 a.m.; Campbell Hall vs. Claremont, 10 a.m.; Muir vs. West Ranch, 11 a.m.; Dominguez vs. St. Monica, noon.
