Boys’ basketball: Mission League basks in glow of winning five state playoff games
- Share via
What happened Wednesday night might have been a first in Southern California state basketball playoff history.
Five Mission League teams won their games in the opening round of the playoffs, and Mark Tennis of CalHiSports said he believes that’s a first for the Southern California Regionals.
With each victory, Crespi, Alemany, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, Harvard-Westlake and Chaminade move closer to running into each other.
It starts happening on Saturday night. In Division IV, Harvard-Westlake will be facing host Chaminade at 6 p.m. Notre Dame is in the opposite bracket. In Division I, Alemany and Crespi are in opposite brackets.
The success indicates the quality of talent and coaching in the league.
