Baseball: SoCal team is 2-0 in 17U tournament in Arizona

The Playa Vista Orioles, coached by San Fernando’s Armando Gomez, is 2-0 in the 17U baseball tournament in Arizona.
Alemany’s Brandon Ponticelli struck out three in two innings in a 10-4 win. Kai Gomez of San Fernando had two hits, Alex Mckenna of Alemany had a home run and Jackson Smith of Palos Verdes had a single, double and two RBIs.
In a second victory, Gomez added two hits and Connor Buckle from Palos Verdes hit a grand slam.
