Baseball: Pitcher Nick Pratto is leaving Mater Dei for Huntington Beach
- Share via
Southern Section Division 1 baseball champion Huntington Beach might be the favorite to win the 2016 championship after sophomore pitcher Nick Pratto informed Oilers Coach Benji Medure that he is leaving Mater Dei to transfer to Huntington Beach, his home school.
Medure confirmed the move on Wednesday.
Pratto, a USC commit, would be reunited with his former Ocean View Little League teammate, Hagen Danner.
Pratto was the ace for Mater Dei as a sophomore this season until he was sidelined with a back injury.
Pratto, Danner, a UCLA commit, and returnee Logan Pouelsen, a UCLA commit, would form perhaps the best pitching trio in the Southland.
