Baseball: Eric Yang, Jeremy Polon named City Section Division I co-players of the year

Yang gets two hits, Polon strikes out 10

The El Camino Real junior duo of catcher Eric Yang and pitcher Jeremy Polon have been selected the City Section Division I co-players of the year in high school baseball by a committee of coaches.
Yang batted .432 with 41 hits for the Division I champion Conquistadores. He was also the West Valley League MVP. He hit a two-run home run in the semifinals against Narbonne.
The left-handed Polon went 11-2 with a 1.13 ERA.
Lincoln’s Hugo Avendado was the Division II player of the year.
Matthew Kanfer of LACES was the Division III player of the year.
