Readers React: Violations surge after OC toll roads end cash option

To the editor: A friend, who served on the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce, told me that some of the best cities invite out-of-town visitors to “pilot test” their highway signage. ( “Violations surge on cashless O.C. toll roads,” June 26)
Ironically, I drove an O.C. toll road recently with friends from Seattle — and gave them a pop quiz: “Read the signs and guess how to pay your toll,” I shouted as we passed the confusing signs.
They, like 13,000 other daily law-breakers, were clueless. Where are the Burma Shave signs when we need them?
