Small airplane goes down near Big Bear; passengers airlifted out

Three people were injured Thursday when a small aircraft went down 12 miles west of Big Bear Airport, authorities said.
San Bernardino National Forest officials reported that the plane went down about 2:10 p.m. at Highway 18 near Arctic Circle and Glory Ridge Road. The passengers were being airlifted out of the forest by a helicopter.
No fatalities were immediately reported.
San Bernardino County Fire officials said they had maintained intermittent cellphone contact with the passengers after crash.
