A San Bernardino man was in custody Monday on suspicion of shooting his live-in girlfriend to death, police said.
Peter Joseph Cerda was arrested about 10:05 p.m. Friday after investigators found his girlfriend shot to death inside their apartment in the 900 block of 2nd Street, said San Bernardino police Sgt. Gary Robertson.
The woman was identified as 29-year-old San Bernardino resident Cathy Silvey, according to the San Bernardino County coroner’s office.
Investigators are unclear about what led to the shooting.
The couple had been living together for about three months, Robertson said.
Cerda reportedly admitted and then denied shooting Silvey, Robertson added.
