Man arrested in bludgeoning death in Silver Lake

A man was arrested Thursday in the bludgeoning death of a man in Silver Lake, police said.
The victim, who was beaten to death with a hammer, has not been identified, said Officer Nuria Vanegas of the Los Angeles Police Department. The victim was declared dead at a nearby hospital.
The attack occurred about 1:45 p.m. in the 4200 block of Burns Avenue.
The suspect was caught a few blocks away. Police said they do not know the motive for the attack. They did not name the suspect.
