A man died after falling off of the elevated departures roadway at Los Angeles International Airport Saturday morning, authorities said.
He was found with a fatal injury on the arrivals roadway below about 9:30 a.m., according to a statement from the Los Angeles Fire Department.
It was not clear whether the fall was accidental, but a preliminary investigation ruled out foul play, said Alicia Hernandez, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Airport Police Department.
The man was found without luggage or a boarding pass, so police do not believe he was a traveler, Hernandez said.
Authorities will not release information about the man’s age or identity until his relatives have been notified, Hernandez said.
Airfield operations were unaffected, but roads around the Terminal 4 parking area were closed briefly Saturday morning.
