Motorcyclist found shot to death in Long Beach street

A Long Beach motorcyclist was found shot to death Friday morning, authorities said.
The victim, an adult male who was not identified, was found in the roadway in the 5500 block of Gary Avenue around 2 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Long Beach police.
A motorcycle was found nearby and it appeared the victim was on or near the motorcycle at the time of the shooting.
No information on a possible suspect was immediately available.
Police were investigating the incident as possibly gang-related.
The death marks the fifth homicide within a one-mile radius in the last 12 months, according to data analyzed by the L.A. Times Homicide Report.
