Argument ends in fatal shooting in South L.A.

An argument ended Saturday night in South Los Angeles with one person pulling out a gun and fatally shooting another, according to the LAPD.
The victim, Derrick Hill, who was about 30 years old, died at a hospital after he was shot in the face, said Det. Miguel Gutierrez.
The shooting occurred about 9 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of East 78th Street, across from McKinley Avenue Elementary School, after a verbal argument escalated. The suspect has not been arrested.
Not counting this incident, there have been seven murders in the Florence neighborhood in the last 12 months, according to the Los Angeles Times Homicide Report.
