A homeless man was found stabbed to death early Thursday in the South L.A. neighborhood of Willowbrook, police said.
The man, whose name and age were not released, was discovered about 12:20 a.m. in the 1200 block of East Imperial Highway suffering from multiple stab wounds, said Los Angeles Police Officer Bruce Borihanh. The man was known to police as a transient.
Firefighters pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police were unable to find any witnesses or gather a description of the suspect, Borihanh said.
It is unclear if the stabbing death was gang-related, he added.
Thirteen people have been killed in the last year in Willowbrook, according to the L.A. Times Homicide Report database.
