Reporting from San Diego — Three people have been arrested in the beating a 50-year-old homeless man who was left with brain damage, Chula Vista police said.
Jeffrey Woodfork, 37, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of administering the beating, which occurred on a downtown street of the San Diego suburb.
Woodfork’s girlfriend, Tanay Jackson, 37, watched the July 12 beating but “did not render any aid to the victim,” police said. She was also arrested.
The victim’s adult son, already in jail on unrelated charges, was also arrested, police said. The victim remains in critical condition in a local hospital, police said.
The case will soon be submitted to the district attorney. No further details are being released, according to police Sgt. Miriam Byron.
