Police in Gardena say a 2-year-old girl who went missing Thursday afternoon was abducted, then found hours later in Cudahy after her kidnapper dropped her off.
Stacy Lopez was last seen about 4:55 p.m. near the intersection of 149th Street and Western Avenue, according to Gardena police.
About 8 p.m., Gardena police said the girl was dropped off by her abductor in Cudahy near the intersection of Atlantic Street and Santa Ana Avenue.
“She’s OK,” said Gardena police Chief Ed Medrano, adding that the toddler was unharmed but taken to a hospital as a precaution.
Police are searching for the kidnapper, a man who is believed to be driving a white Nissan Altima, Medrano said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Gardena police at (310) 217-9670 or dial 911.
