Officials investigating report of a body buried at a Carson home

Detectives are searching a Carson property Thursday after receiving a tip about a body possibly buried there.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives responded to the 21600 block of Prospect Avenue at about 7:45 a.m. to investigate, authorities said.

Detectives received credible information and served a search warrant, the department said in a statement. Sheriff’s Department Scientific Services, crime lab personnel and Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner personnel are assisting in the investigation.

The department did not provide further information.
