Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Chester

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Monday morning eight miles from Chester, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 12:19 a.m. PST near the surface.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 30 miles from Susanville, 34 miles from Magalia and 39 miles from Paradise.
In the last 10 days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
