A cold got the better of British R&B-pop sensation Adele this week as her tour moves across the U.S., prompting her to reschedule a performance that had been set for Wednesday in Phoenix.
She posted a video of herself on Twitter, out of makeup and with puffy eyes and reddened nose, apologizing to fans in a congested voice: “I am really, really, really sorry to let anyone down .… It’s the last thing I want to do, but I have to take care of myself because I’ve got so many more shows to do.”
Wednesday’s concert has been reset for Nov. 21, and she is due back in Los Angeles next to complete her run of eight shows at Staples Center with the final two appearances Saturday and Sunday, following six sold-out Staples shows earlier this month.
A spokesman said he did not know if any other tour dates might be affected.
