In a shrewd gambit to set search-engines everywhere ablaze and bring the Internet to its knees, this past weekend’s episode of “Saturday Night Live” featured Miley Cyrus in a sketch parodying the film adaptation of “Fifty Shades Of Grey” — or rather, the casting process for and intense scrutiny on same.

The idea is now a venerable tradition on the long-running sketch show, with previous fake-audition skits involving “Star Wars,” “Back to the Future,” “Top Gun” and “Pulp Fiction.”

Apparently no one in the cast has yet perfected their impressions of Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson, who were cast in the lead roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. Rather, the sketch, about failed auditions for the adaptation, allowed cast members to unveil new impressions or dust off old ones. New cast member Noël Wells showed off her renditions of Emma Stone and Kristen Stewart, paired against Bobby Moynihan’s Seth Rogen and an impression of Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Miley gave an odd take on Scarlett Johansson, paired against Taran Killam’s reading of Christoph Waltz. Other fantasy pairings included renditions of Steve Harvey with Rebel Wilson, Tracy Morgan and Tilda Swinton, Jon Cryer and Jane Lynch and Aziz Ansari and Mary-Louise Parker

Sadly, there was no impression of Miley’s fantasy audition. One would think the S&M/twerking jokes would’ve written themselves.
