Looks as if Taraji P. Henson has been hustling as hard and fast as her sassy “Empire” alter-ego, Cookie.
The breakout star of the Fox soap had a health scare and disclosed it to fans Friday on Instagram by posting a photo of herself in bed with a medical IV needle in her arm.
The 44-year-old was hospitalized for exhaustion, her rep confirmed to The Times, adding that “she will be fine.”
“God has a way of saying ‘you’re doing too much!’ ‘SAT DOWN SOMEWHERE,’ ” Henson wrote in a lengthy caption that didn’t disclose the ailment. “I’m listening Father!!! I am taking several seats!!!”
The actress attempted to put fans at ease by adding: “Don’t worry y’all I’m a tough cookie! HA! I will be just fine. My momma and best friends are flying in to check on me. I AM FINE!!!!!!! Just need to SAT ALL THE WAY DOWN for a bit. #listentoyourbody”
It’s been a whirlwind week for the potential Emmy nominee. The quotable TV matriarch and her costar Terrence Howard were in Monaco earlier this week promoting their smash music-biz drama at the Monte Carlo TV Festival.
TMZ reported that Henson is dealing with a bout of food poisoning and has had trouble keeping anything down since returning from Europe on Thursday.
