Update: Jonathan Quick, who was pulled from a game Wednesday for the first time this season and made his first relief appearance on Thursday after Jonathan Bernier was pulled in a loss to Philadelphia, will start in goal. He recorded a 24-save shutout against the Sharks on Monday, but since then the Kings have given up 13 goals in two games against the Coyotes and Flyers. Left wing Alexei Ponikarovsky (ankle) and defenseman Willie Mitchell (knee) will not play Saturday as the Kings play the fifth of six games in a span of nine days. The Sharks won at Chicago on Thursday after losing to the Kings and the Minnesota Wild. San Jose forwards Joe Pavelski and Torrey Mitchell each have missed the last two games because of lower-body injuries.
