VS. NEW YORK ISLANDERS
When: 7:30.
Where: Staples Center.
On the air: TV: FS West; Radio: 1150.
Records: Kings 11-3-0, Islanders 4-9-3.
Record vs. Islanders (2009-10): 2-0-0.
Update: The Kings go after a franchise-record eighth consecutive home win to start a season, and they will do so against a skidding Islanders team that has lost nine in a row. But New York earned a point in its last game, taking San Jose to a shootout before falling, 2-1. Dwayne Roloson made 37 saves, helping solidify a back line that is missing three of its top six defensemen: the injured Mark Streit, Andrew MacDonald and Milan Jurcina. The Kings, through Thursday’s games, have a league-leading 1.93 goals-against average. They also have killed 17 consecutive penalties and have not given up a power-play goal at home this season. Justin Williams’ game-winning goal Thursday extended his point streak to eight games, one shy of his career high; Anze Kopitar has 13 points in his last 13 games and Jack Johnson has 10 points in his last eight.
