Coyotes rally on the road

Detroit — Shane Doan’s goal 3:50 into overtime capped Phoenix’s comeback from a two-goal deficit to give the Coyotes a 5-4 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night.
With goalie Ilya Bryzgalov off, Phoenix got goals from Ed Jovanovski and Keith Yandle in the last 1:30 to tie it at 4-4.
Doan also had three assists, Yandle scored twice and Scottie Upshall had a goal and an assist. Bryzgalov stopped 33 shots.
Nicklas Lidstrom scored twice, Pavel Datsyuk had a goal and an assist and Patrick Eaves also scored for Detroit. Henrik Zetterberg had two assists and Jimmy Howard made 32 saves.
Jovanovski’s goal came during a goal-mouth scramble with 22 seconds left to tie it, after Yandle’s six-on-four power-play goal with 1:30 left.
Lidstrom scored a tiebreaking goal with 8:38 to play and added another on the power play with 4:38 left.
Eaves tied it at 2-2 just 11 seconds after Phoenix took a 2-1 lead in the second period.
Yandle’s first goal had put the Coyotes up by one with 7:53 left in the middle period.
