Federal agents have raided a medical marijuana dispensary in what appears to be the first such action since U.S. Atty. Gen. Eric Holder said the Obama administration would not interfere with clinics abiding by state law.
U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents descended Wednesday on Emmalyn’s California Cannabis Clinic, which was giving out free marijuana to poor people.
Agents carried out marijuana plants, grow lights and other equipment.
The specific reason for the raid remains under court seal.
But a DEA spokesman said the dispensary is suspected of violating federal and state law.
