A natural gas line ruptured during a traffic collision early Saturday, briefly threatening an apartment complex and a gas station after one of the vehicles caught fire, said Los Angeles County Fire Department spokeswoman Cheryl Sims.
The gas line ruptured about 4:26 a.m. when a car and truck collided near the intersection of Rosecrans and Prairie avenues, Sims said.
Firefighters at the scene put out the flames quickly, she said. The gas company shut down the gas line.
Sims said it was unclear whether there were any injuries, adding that no one was hospitalized. Apartment residents were not evacuated.
