‘Crank: High Voltage’

Is Jason Statham the latest actor to get a swelled head? It certainly looks that way in this photograph from a set visit last year to “Crank: High Voltage.” But it’s actually stuntman Dave Kilde wearing a Statham mask, which was used for a surreal sequence in the thriller, opening Friday. In the sequel to the 2006 hit “Crank,” hitman Chev Chelios (Statham) is kidnapped by a gang of Chinese medics who attempt to harvest his organs. But Chev has other ideas. After they remove his heart and replace it with an electronic one, Chev wakes up and seeks revenge. He scours Los Angeles, looking for his missing ticker, pausing briefly to jolt himself with electricity to keep his temporary heart working.
