A Sacramento man accused of fatally shooting his estranged wife and a man inside a New Jersey church Sunday has been captured in Georgia.
New Jersey district U.S. Marshal James Plousis said Joseph M. Pallipurath, 27, was captured about midnight Monday in Monroe, east of Atlanta.
Pallipurath is suspected of shooting and killing Reshma James, 24, inside the St. Thomas Syrian Orthodox Knanaya Church in Clifton, a suburb about 15 miles west of Manhattan. Also killed was Dennis John Mallosseril, who witnesses say had tried to intervene when the couple argued. A third person is hospitalized in critical condition.
Pallipurath was said to have relatives in Georgia.
