Dog duty island

I STILL like the idea of the “Islands of L.A.” [“Against the Flow,” May 11], and, as a letter carrier stuck taking my break in a hot car, I claimed a traffic island for my break place, under the tall trees on Radford [Avenue], south of Riverside Drive, in Valley Village.
The only thing wrong with this long, 600-foot-by-10-foot-wide island was the “urban wildlife” -- the leashed dogs brought to do their daily duties on the island. I couldn’t think how to rename this island. Was it really “Pooper Scooper Parkway”? “Dog Dump Drive”?
