Cline HANDY rejects the idea that humans are no more important than rocks or trees [Letters, March 9]. Indeed, they are no more important, unless you happen to be a human. We give our lives meaning, and those of us who call ourselves atheists treasure our journey as long as it lasts. History shows that those of “faith” have done more than their share of behaving immorally in their god’s name.
