Chicago Cubs 6, at Toronto 2: Reed Johnson, who was released by the Blue Jays on March 23, got some redemption against his former club when he hit a 1-and-1 fastball from Roy Halladay over the left-field wall for a three-run homer in the second inning. “It had to feel good for him,” Cubs Manager Lou Piniella said. “It felt good to me.”
at St. Louis 3, Philadelphia 2: Kyle Lohse pitched a season-high eight innings of four-hit ball and Adam Kennedy hit a two-run homer, helping the Cardinals rebound from Friday night’s 20-2 loss -- their worst defeat at 3-year-old Busch Stadium
Boston 6, at Cincinnati 4 (10 innings): Kevin Youkilis hit a tiebreaking homer in the 10th, rallying the Red Sox past the Reds, the team he rooted for as a local high school and college star and later resented when it passed him over in the draft.
at Tampa Bay 4, Florida 1: Jonny Gomes homered in his first at-bat since serving a five-game suspension for his part in a bench-clearing brawl to help the Rays.
Minnesota 9, at Milwaukee 4 (12 innings): Brian Buscher singled with the bases loaded and pinch-hitter Michael Cuddyer hit a two-run triple and scored on an error in the 12th.
New York Yankees 8, at Houston 4: Mike Mussina pitched six solid innings for his 260th career victory and the Yankees (36-33) moved three games above .500 for the first time this season.
Colorado 2, at Chicago White Sox 0: The Rockies won despite going one for 15 with runners in scoring position.
at Baltimore 8, Pittsburgh 7: The Orioles, who rallied from deficits of 2-1, 5-4 and 7-6, improved to 15-9 in one-run games. They were 13-31 last season.
Kansas City 12, at Arizona 3: Randy Johnson, winless in his last five starts, gave up eight runs -- seven earned -- and 10 hits in 4 1/3 innings. “It was just a poorly pitched game on my part,” he said.
Oakland 4, at San Francisco 0: Rich Harden pitched one-hit ball for six innings and matched his season high with nine strikeouts. He walked two and faced only two batters over the minimum.
Washington 5, at Seattle 2: Jesus Flores hit a tiebreaking, two-run homer with two out in the sixth inning.
San Diego 8, at Cleveland 3 (10 innings): Kevin Kouzmanoff’s grand slam highlighted a five-run 10th.
Texas at New York Mets, ppd., rain: The game will be made up today as part of a doubleheader.
at Detroit 12, Dodgers 7: Brad Penny is 0-7 over his last eight starts.
Atlanta 9, at Angels 4: Ervin Santana had his worst outing of the season.
