Official jailed for graft to be freed

A Russian court ordered the release of former Atomic Energy Minister Yevgeny Adamov, jailed in February for embezzling more than $30 million in U.S. funds and wanted for trial in the United States.
A court spokeswoman said his original 5 1/2 -year sentence had been suspended.
Adamov has denied any guilt.
He has been charged in the United States with misusing $9 million in aid intended to improve safety at Soviet-era nuclear reactors in the 1990s.
