BAGHDAD — U.S. military officials on Monday announced the deaths of nine American soldiers, including seven who died in a vehicle accident on the west side of the capital. The crash also killed two detainees and injured 11 other soldiers.
Another soldier died and two were injured Monday in Baghdad when their vehicle overturned and caught fire.
Military officials also reported that a rocket attack killed a soldier on patrol Sunday in the northern city of Kirkuk.
The names of the dead soldiers were being withheld pending notice to their families.
The website icasualties.org, which tracks deaths in the conflict, reports that 3,774 American troops have been killed since the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003.
