30-year mortgage rates are unchanged at 6.16%

Mortgage giant Freddie Mac reported that 30-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged 6.16% this week, the same as last week.
Rates on 15-year fixed-rate mortgages, a popular choice for refinancing, declined slightly to 5.86%, down from 5.9% last week.
Five-year adjustable-rate mortgages averaged 5.88%, down from 5.91%. One-year adjustable mortgages edged up to 5.43% from 5.4%.
The rates do not include add-on fees known as points. Thirty-year and 15-year mortgages both carried a nationwide average fee of 0.4 of a point. The five-year mortgage had an average fee of 0.5 of a point, and the one-year mortgage carried a 0.6-point average fee.
