A mother was sentenced Tuesday to 30 days in San Mateo County Jail for leaving her 8-month-old child at home alone while she tried to steal baby formula to resell online.
Kamara Vasilakos, 25, of Redwood City also was placed on supervised probation for three years after pleading no contest to child endangerment and grand theft.
Vasilakos opted for the plea bargain after prosecutors reduced a child endangerment charge to a misdemeanor, allowing her to serve time in county jail instead of a state prison.
