No Doubt reunites in OC shows

Gwen Stefani’s concert encore Friday night at Verizon Amphitheater in Orange County came with a big surprise -- her three old bandmates from No Doubt came onstage to play their old hits “Just a Girl,” “It’s My Life,” and “Spiderwebs.” The next night, Stefani was again joined by Tony Kanal, Adrian Young and Tom Dumont for two more No Doubt tracks, “Hella Good” and “Sunday Morning.”
The ska-rock band that sold more than 25 million albums has been on public hiatus since 2004, when Stefani launched her solo career. The band had been expected to release an album this year, but Stefani’s continuing pop ventures got in the way. Dumont told MTV last month that a new album should be ready for fall 2008.
