SAN BERNARDINO — A man who pointed gang members to an apartment where they shot and killed an 11-year-old girl by mistake was sentenced to 10 years in state prison.
Marquis Deshawn Taylor, 19, of San Bernardino was sentenced Friday. He had pleaded guilty to two counts of assault with a firearm and acknowledged participating in a street gang.
Taylor declined to make a statement during his Superior Court appearance.
Mynisha Crenshaw was fatally shot in the chest, and her 14-year-old sister was wounded when gunmen fired at least 30 shots into their apartment in 2005.
Four carloads of gang members had gone to the apartment complex looking for rivals they believed had killed an associate four days earlier.
Taylor walked down the stairs of the complex, told the men he knew where the rivals were and gave them the apartment number for a family that had moved in just weeks earlier, prosecutors said.
