OCTA weighing offer from bus drivers union

Negotiations continued Thursday between the Orange County Transportation Authority and the union representing striking bus drivers as the strike stretched into its seventh day.
OCTA officials were weighing a new counteroffer from the union, which would reduce the amount in raises sought but continue to award most of it to senior drivers instead of newer hires. That has been a key sticking point between the drivers and OCTA, which wants to distribute raises evenly among employees.
