Driver, 83, killed hitting bus shelter

An elderly man died Tuesday after running a red light and crashing into a bus shelter at 8th and Main streets, police said.
Desiderio Hernandez, 83, was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene about 2:30 p.m., a Santa Ana Police spokesman said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, he said.
